Sir Gawain and the Green Knight: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical stands tall on its own, but it is only the first part of an Arthurian rock ‘n’ roll trilogy.
The first sequel is called “The Wedding of Sir Gawain and Lady Ragnelle: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical”. It is, among other things, about a wedding; there is also witchcraft involved, a riddle about what women most desire, and some consideration of the true meaning of friendship as well as the relative concepts of beauty and ugliness.
The second sequel is called “The Morte Arthure: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical”. It is primarily about war, honor, betrayal, and revenge (and, of course, death). King Arthur responds to the Roman Empire’s demand for tribute from Britain by declaring war on Rome; he conquers much of the Empire, although at a high price, and he is on the brink of capturing Rome itself when he is recalled to Britain to face off in his last battle with Mordred, who has usurped the British throne.
